Good morning! It’s a lovely Spring rainy morning in our neck of the woods! We’ll take it though just to see that snow get washed away.
Saturday, I got out for a longish run with my sister Miriam. We did 10 miles in 1 hr 25 min. This was the longest she has ever run! She did so well and I think she is ready to rock her first ½ marathon this weekend! It was snowing ever so slightly when we started and it was very chilly. I hope this was the last run that is that cold for this season! I am ready to sweat and have difficulty breathing in the humidity while running. I promise I won’t complain when that time comes!
Someone at work had given me a gift certificate for Paramount Fine Foods a little while back so I decided to use it up on Saturday night so I went and enjoyed a big plate of Beef Shwarma and Knafeh!
Yesterday, I was on the road for work and enjoyed some nice treats! I still try to eat somewhat healthy when I am on the road so love finding new places to enjoy a light and healthy lunch. Yesterday, I found this place called Quick Sandwiches! You pick your bread, and then all your toppings and they grill it up for you like a Panini! I had a Veggie Mediterranean Sammy!
I have also been enjoying some of these babies again lately!
Easy for breaky on the run!
Well I hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday!
What do you consider a longish run?
Where is your favorite place to eat at when you are on the road?
i could totally go for that sandwich place - sounds sooo yummy!
ReplyDeleteTell ur sis good luck! Looks like you ladies had a fun run!! 10 miles is definitely one of my favorite long-ish distances besides the half!!
ReplyDeleteAnything over 7-8 miles I consider a longer run:)
ReplyDeleteHi Rhoda - I have been enjoying reading through your guys' blog. My idea of a long run fluctuates widely based on what I am training for but at the moment I tend to think of anything over 20km as a long run.
ReplyDeleteI saw in the list of races you are doing your first marathon soon. I did my first one - also in Toronto but the Soctiabank Waterfront - last fall. It is quite the experience doing that for the first time. How are you finding the training?
I think 10 miles is definitely a LONGish run! I think for me that 5 or 6 miles is definitely a longish run...and I LOVE sandwiches so I think I would really like that sandwich place :)
ReplyDeleteWhat is this knafeh you speak of? Is that pistachio I see?
ReplyDeleteYAY! So excited for your sister and your half this weekend!! I can't wait until my sister commits to her training and does a half with me haha! I consider 7 or more miles a longish run.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to get a good run in with her sister! Hope the half goes well! 10 miles is a great distance, it's long enough but short enough (at least when you have trained longer!). I guess I don't typically count something as a 'long' run unless it's over a half distance but I know that some runs I consider long others consider warm-ups. It's all relative.
ReplyDeleteIt was soooo yummy!
ReplyDeleteI am with you on that Chelsea, the 10 miler and the half are my favourite! I will pass along your good luck wishes to my sister!
ReplyDeleteThose are great distances!
ReplyDeleteHello, thanks for checking us out! I am very nervous for this full. I have been doing ok with the training but def have not had the time that I wanted to be able to get better training in. I hope I do okay. I am running a half this weekend and will do one more long run next weekend and then taper off for a couple weeks with no long runs.
ReplyDeleteThat would be a perfect combo! 5 or 6 mile run and a fancy sandwich after!
ReplyDeleteIt is a light cake with a layer of cheese on the bottom, it gets warmed up, then a sugar syrup is poured on top and garnished with crushed pistachios. It is very yummy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy! It is so nice to see someone accomplish their goals. I am sure your sister will come around soon :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Laura! I agree. Its all relative with where you are at in your running.
