CRR’s MEC 10 Km Race Talk and A Wee Bit of Shopping

Posted by Anonymous

Good morning! I am going to tag onto Mike’s recap from yesterday with a brief (and I mean brief) recap of my own.

Saturday was the 2nd race of the year for the MEC race series. I decided to run it a couple weeks ago because I felt like it was time for another race, and lets be honest, I wanted to rock my Pro Compression Shamrock socks!!

I also was wearing a really cute t-shirt but I made the mistake of listening to my pre-run cold voice and did not take off my jacket like I had planned so y’all can’t see it. Oh well, there is always next year!

Anyways, it was a fun little run that I didn’t take seriously, meaning, I didn’t once look at my watch and I just let my legs take me through the run. It was raining slightly when we started and quickly turned into snow for a portion of the race. The path was clean except for a few icy and wet patches. I did get a soaker about 2km into the race so that did not feel good at all for the rest of the run. I don’t know what my official finish time was because I forgot to turn my watch off until much later after I finished running. When I was looking at the clock as I approached the finish line, I believe I would have finished between 50 and 51 minutes. Not my fastest at all but that is okay. It was enough to give me a 2nd place for the women!

Afterwards, they had a very nice array of refreshments, which I took full advantage of!

Thanks to my superb photography skills you can see all that they offered! There were bananas, bagels, peanut butter, coffee and some other wet beverages! The main thing is, they had coffee! I was freezing as soon as I finished running so the coffee was great for a little bit of warming up! Thanks MEC for another great race! I hope to see you at Race #3.

I also indulged in a wee bit of shopping over the weekend. I made a trip to Lululemon and bought these bright babies!!

I am hopeful that I will be wearing shorts very soon to run in!

Michelle and I ordered some new kicks from Running Warehouse a few weeks back so I picked them up yesterday.

The Saucony Kinvara’s are my first love so we bought a “4” edition in preparation for an upcoming race outfit, and because we needed another pair.

I have been wanting to try out the Mizuno Wave Sayonara’s since Mike did his review on them several months back but hadn’t loved any of the colours they had yet. When this colour scheme was released, it was a done deal!

I am excited to try them out!

Anybody wear shorts to run on the weekend?

Any Sayonara fan’s out there?

WOW! CONGRATS!!! You rocked it lady!! Lovin' your new gear! I got to run in shorts over the weekend. Fairly certain NASA called my town looking for the bright glare seen from space, aka my pastey white legs.
