Training in Full Swing

Posted by Anonymous

Good morning! Its already Wednesday folks. Ever feel like the weeks just fly by?

In the next 8 weeks, the 3cheaprunners have some big runs happening.

Saturday, March 15th, is another MEC race, I am going to do the 10km. This one is happening in our very own town of London, Ontario. This is race #2 of this series for this year. Mike ran #1 a couple weeks ago.

2 weeks later, on Sunday, March 30th, we are all off to the Around the Bay Road Race in Hamilton, Ontario. This is a 30 k’er. A first race distance for all of us!

ATB

Another 2 weeks later, on Sunday, April 13th, is the Run for Retina, back in London, Ontario.

I am going to run the ½ marathon with my sister, Miriam. This will be her first ½ marathon and I am super excited to run this with her. I hope I can keep up! She just started running with me about a year ago and decided she wanted this race to be her goal to work towards.

2 weeks after that, on Sunday, April 27th, is the Forest City Road Race, also, in London, Ontario. Mike and Michelle are doing the ½ marathon and I am going to do the 10km.

All 3 of us ran this race last year. Michelle ran the 10km, Mike and I ran the ½ .

1 week later, on Sunday, May 4th, I am running the Goodlife Fitness Toronto Marathon in Toronto, Ontario. This is my 1st Full and I am super nervous about it! So much so, that I want to back out…So please talk me in to not backing out…. I am serious!

With all that supposed to happen in the next 8 weeks, I need to get my butt in gear and get some serious training runs in! I got in a couple good runs last weekend.

1 short run…

Mini reward was wine….

and 1 long run...

My plan is to get 2 more long runs in before the 30 km race, increasing the long run distance by 2.5 miles each time. That means, this weekend, I need to get in a 16.5 mile run. I really need a lot of positive talk to get through this next 8 weeks! I really want to do it and get through and be proud of my accomplishments so I am just going to keep at that positive talk!

On that note! It is still really, really cold here so I keep imagining I am still on the beach in Dominican…

With these 2 crazies!

Have a great day everyone!!

Do you make mini rewards for yourself? Or just big ones? Or both??

What is one big goal you have for yourself right now?

Oh my so many races coming up! How exciting!!! I can't wait for the recaps haha (race recaps have always been my fav). So sweet you get to run with your sis in her first half! My sis just started training and I hope to run with her some day.

  5. LOVE so much racing, like seriously. ATB 30k is such an odd distance but I'd like to go back and race it one day. I did it last year and would like to see what I could do actually trained for it and not using it as training run.

Keep up the positive attitude, you have a LOT going for you!
