Growing Older But Not Up

Ok...the party's not actually until this weekend...and I don't plan on there being any crying - but today does mark the day of my friend Matt's 1/2 birthday (as he likes to call it) aka my 34th bday. That means another year older - so that also makes me totally wiser....mmmkay ('cause that's how it works ya'll)

I know a lot of people feel like this when their birthday rolls around

2

But ya know what...I feel a lot more like this instead

3

I certainly try to enjoy life each and every day...and this year for my bday I thought I would do something a little different - a birthday "bucket" list. A list of things I'd like to do between now and turning another year older.

So here it goes...my 34 for 34

4

1. Run 1,200 km

2. Sign up for 2 more 1/2 marathons

3. Sign up and complete a min. of 2 duathlons

4. Go to Key West

5. Save $ for our trip to Hawaii

6. Eat at an iHop

7. Go on a date night with my hubby once a month

8. Take the kids swimming at least twice a month

9. Organize and purge all of my clothes

10. Take more pictures of my kids

11. Read a book a month

12. Go zip-lining

13. Add at least 3 more cups (from different city's) to my Starbucks collection

14. Bake with the kids

15. Get a massage

16. Visit my mom more

17. Play volleyball

18. Try a new-to-me food

19. Be present with my kids while they are kids and do my best to raise them to be responsible, happy adults.

20. Do an un-assisted pull-up

21. Host a games night party

22. Start a "my favourites" girls night

23. Write up a bunch of blog posts to have ready for when we are on vacation

24. Book an all inclusive vacation for February

25. Meet up with blogging friends in Chicago when we are all there for marathon weekend in October

26. Reach my Louis Vuitton weight

27. Ride my bike to work

28. Go to Cedar Point

29. Go to a concert

30. Sign up for a family membership at the YMCA...and get lots of family use out of it

31. Do core/ab work 3 times a week

32. Run a 5km in 28min

33. Finish a 1/2 marathon in 2:30

34. Take a girl's weekend trip

5

How many things do you think I'll be able to cross off my list this year?

What's something on your bucket list this year?

  6. Happy happy Birthday friend!! I hope you have a wonderful day filled with sunshine, red velvet cupcakes, unicorns & rainbows. :)
When you come visit, we can knock a couple things off your bucket list. I'll take you to IHOP and go zip lining. It's on my list too!

  7. Happy Happy Birthday! Since your party isn't until this weekend I think you should celebrate straight through!! You should start with a list item like a massage!!!
I love your list - I've actually been thinking that I will do one on my birthday next month (I will have to come up with a few more things to complete mine).
And - we have a Starbuck city mug collection, too!!

Happy birthday, Michelle! What an impressive list!
I like #25- I definitely want to meet you in Chicago! And then I have a question about #26, what does Louis Vuitton weight mean? I love LV!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Thanks Katie! We will definitely set something up at a Starbucks or something so
    we can meet in Chicago!
...funny thing - I was just saying to Mike last
night that no one asked LV weight...so we (I) picked a goal weight...the deal is
when I hit it I get my next LV!!!! (Hoping to reach it in time to get a new one
    in Chicago!!!!)

  23. Most traԁitional anti-fungal medications and prescription antibiotіcs aгe not recommended for
pregnant women because of likely implications
for the child. Many people are now turning to Ԁetoҳ
bаths to help them rid themselѵes of yeaѕt infection. While the bгand does not matter and neither does the fat content, it is very important to make sure that it contains no

  24. Hello would you mind letting me know which webhost you're using?

I've loaded your blog in 3 different web browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot
faster then most. Can you recommend a good hosting provider at a reasonable price?
    Thanks, I appreciate it!
