Now some of you may be thinking that I am referring to those who ran the Boston Marathon, April 15th. Although I am envious of those who qualify and run it, I am thankful I wasn’t there this year. My heartfelt condolences to those affected by the explosion at the finish line.
My envy is about the fact that my fellow cheap runners were all in a race on Sunday and I wasn’t there. I was chillaxin’ with one of these instead. I guess I am the lazy one!
Anyways, when they originally asked me if I was going to sign up, I said no for various reasons. One of them being, that if I was going to, I would want to do the half and I am already signed up for one less than 2 weeks from now. I thought that would be too close together. I ended up getting in a 24 km run on the weekend anyways so I should have just signed up for the race. I will remember that for next time! So there is my envy.
As for my woes….
Sunday, CheaprunnerMichelle and I went out for a run and she was faced with the woes I am referring to. We stopped at a bathroom to find, to her despair, it was not open! Last night, I set out for a run and ran into the same problem at the exact same spot and tried the same bathroom, and “oh nooooo”, it was still not open! This is a horrible feeling! Anyone else know what I am talking about?
Other than that, and the fact that I had to cut 1 km off my planned run due to the woes, it was a beautiful night for a run along the paths at Springbank Gardens.
I also tried out a new pair of shoes on this run. Mizuno Wave Rider 15’s. Loved them!
