Good morning! If you’re a runner you know what it feels like after a race. You are on a high! It lasts for a couple of days and than its back to real life, real training, the tough stuff that helped you get through that last race.
I have been struggling in the last week with getting my runs in. I failed at getting my long run in on the weekend, so my make up day was Monday morning. I failed at getting it in Monday morning.
I was beating myself up all day yesterday. I was so mad at myself. I started thinking about when I was going to get it in this week and how it was now going to throw me off for getting in my other runs and long run this weekend. I decided to push the reset button and just keep going with what my plan said for this week for Tuesday and go from there, so that is where I am at. 11km/6.88m run done this morning. Back on track with a missed long run! It sucks but it is what it is!
This time of year is tough for me to get motivated. I decided to add some spice to my life last week with a new doo!
Going a little lighter!! Yay!
And some new to me food! I tried out a couple new things I stumbled across.
For breaky, some sliced apples with almond butter and trail mix.
For lunch some Quinoa Tabbouleh
For dinner some Sweet Potato Casserole.
And for dessert, which I haven’t actually made yet, Pillsbury Red Velvet Cookies!!!
Sssshhhhh, don’t tell Michelle!
What do you do to pick you up after a running high?
Pillsbury cookies anyone??
I find I always take longer than I would like to get back into the groove after a race. That runners/race high is so awesome, I am looking forward to feeling it again! Hopefully from another 26.2 this year;)
ReplyDeleteCan you post the recipe for your quinoa taboulleh? I looove regular taboulleh so I'd love to try it with quinoa.
I've been eyeing those red velvet cookies everytime I grocery shop, Mmmm.
sweet potato casserole looks A-MAZ-ING! are you sharing recipes?
ReplyDeleteGirlfriend you are hot and I love your hair!! Also I would like some red velvet cookies like right now.
ReplyDeleteCheck the blog Friday. I'll post it then. Good luck with getting another 26.2 in this year!!
ReplyDeleteI'll post it Friday.
ReplyDeleteI thought that was the only way to eat Pillsnury cookies!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat you actually meant to say is that your saving them till you get a chance to share them with me :)
ReplyDeleteGetting back into swing of things after a race can be hard, especially ones that you travel to! I love the new hair, I'm the same way... I crave something to change so the first thing I usually mess with is my hair~
ReplyDeleteLOVE the new hair! It's so hard to pick yourself up after a runner's high. I find that reading running magazines and blogs help to motivate me. If I'm not motivated, I'm at least guilted into moving my lazy ass.
ReplyDeleteThat's right. Perhaps a travelling snack.
ReplyDeleteI am getting more carefree with the hair change the older I get.
ReplyDeleteYour right Amy. Running mags are a great idea.
