Good morning from Florida! It looks like another warm but wet day is in store for us here, but it beats the cold and snow at home.
We landed in Orlando yesterday morning and set off to meet Michelle's aunt & uncle for lunch at Denny's. We had a nice visit with them before heading over to the expo at Wide World of Sports where we had to pick up our race bibs. I don't know why, but I never realized that by doing the Goofy I would get three race shirts...nice haul! They are good shirts too, Champion long sleeves.
We picked up our shirts and bibs without any problem...if you decide you want to follow our races online here are our bib numbers. We also signed up for runner tracking on twitter, so if you follow us you'll see how many characters we stop at for pictures how well we are doing.
After getting our our kits taken care of we toured the expo a bit. We didn't spend a lot of time there as the vendors were all basically the same as when we were here for the Tower of Terror run in October. The girls were excited to get their hands on some new Team Sparkle skirts though...I think there must be a new costume in the works!
While at the expo there was time to snap a few pics...
Unfortunately the skies opened up just before we had to make a run for the car...let's just say that the results weren't pretty.
We decided it was time to go check into the hotel to dry out and let the girls get a change of clothes and then we hit the outlets where we got some schweet deals...Lululemon, American Eagle and Wilson's Leather. By the time we shopped ourselves out it was time to eat. We decided to go with Bonefish Grill an lets just say that the bread and calamari appetizers didn't stand a chance...
34 seconds later...
For our entrees I went with Ahi Tuna while the girls both had Bang Bang Tacos
Again, these meals didn't stand a chance. We finished up and went back to our hotel where we capped the day with a quick dip in the hot tub with some drinks (bottled water, nothing exciting!)
Today is sure to be filled with lots of chillin' as we get ready to run tomorrow...here's hoping the rain holds off!
34 seconds! Nice PR! and why aren't you on team sparkle skirt Mike? maybe it is a secret way to get a sub 3:00!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! Love that you can send twitter updates :). That food looks delicious and I won't blame you for stopping a million times for character pics!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good first day in Florida!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some sunshine while you are there!!
Good luck on the race(s)!!
If I knew that a sparkle skirt was all it would take for sub-3:00 I'd be all over it...I'd even wear the fairie wings!
ReplyDeleteOh ya Christine, we will stop with reckless abandon for our finishing times!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim...the sun is shining right now :)
ReplyDeleteToo much fun! Enjoy and good luck to you all! Love me some Bonefish Grill!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't go wrong with Bonefish! We are going to channel our inner senior citizens and go for dinner at 5:30 tonight...it's a 3am wake up call for tomorrow's race!
ReplyDeleteLove all the pictures. I have been caught in the rain more times than I can count but you still look fabulous! That food also looks amazing, Id like to think I would have demolished that plate just as quickly!
