It’s a lovely rainy day here in our neck of the woods! I think we are finally getting April’s weather!
After many months, I finally feel like my exercise routine is back on track….. So far, I have been able to get 4 runs and 2 body pump classes in this week!
Now I just need to work on getting my food choices back on track…baby steps here right?! This was my meal of choice this week…a good start I would say…
Yesterday, I did something that I haven’t done in a couple of years now. I donated blood. No, we don’t get paid to do that here in Canada as I have heard you do in certain states. I used to go every 56 days, which is how often they will let you go, and I was up to 13 donations. I was contacted by the Canadian Blood Services again a little while ago as they were having a certain blitz on gathering my type of blood, which is a universal donor, so yesterday I made my 14th donation. They are so friendly there and even give you diet coke and cookies after! What's not to like??
I hope you are all enjoying your day out there!

What has been your meal of choice this week?
Anyone ever donated blood?
The first time I tried to give blood was in grad school - after about 1.5 hours and lots of pain from them moving the needles around we gave up.
ReplyDeleteI didn't try again until a few years ago and it was no problem that time -weird!!
Ahh love BP! I miss it a lot! Need to get back into it. Lately it has been a lot of strength work in my living room + yoga. However you can get it in!
ReplyDeleteThat is similar to my first experience Kim. I had a brand new nurse. Maybe that was your issue too :)
ReplyDeleteThose are still great workouts!! Good for you!!
ReplyDeleteOMG that plate of food looks AMAZING!! And wow- you're the best! Love how much you donate blood! I've never done it before because you have to weigh a certain amount that I don't quite reach. I've thought about attempting to drink a ton and eat a ton the day of a donation, but then I remembered that just giving the doctor that little vial of blood makes me light-headed. I guess the rules are there for a reason ;)
ReplyDeleteWow that's interesting. I have not heard of weight being a qualifier before. It's def not for everyone.
