Races, Food, and Drinks (not in relation to each other)

We made it to Hump Day!! Yeah!

So, obviously, I did not run the Chicago Marathon last weekend. It was very exciting to be a part of the festivities though and definitely got me excited to run a Marathon. I have talked a bit about running my first marathon and originally my goal was for the Hamilton Marathon Road2Hope on November 3rd, 2013. That is not happening! With life situations happening over the last 5 months I have had to reassess my goal and have made a new one. My goal is now for the Goodlife Fitness Toronto Marathon in May 2014. That’s a long ways away so I have time to train and get myself ready for that. With that being said, Michelle found another very local Lady’s Half Marathon taking place on November 3rd, 2013, so I have signed up for that one instead. This is the first annual, Ladies only, Half Marathon, in London, Ontario. There is also a 5km and a Half Marathon Relay. It is to support the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for the Children’s Hospital at the London Health Science Centre. This will keep me motivated over the next 3 weeks.

You have seen the highlights of our Chicago weekend already so I thought I would just share some food and beverage highlights from the weekend!

It started with breakfast at the IHOP, on Friday morning, which you already heard about!

At the expo we were able to finally get our hands on some Watermelon NUUN that is all the rave! Jackson was so excited for us he tattooed it on himself.

After the expo, Michelle and I made our way to Trader Joe’s. This was the first time for either of us to go to one. We found a couple goodies.

I really wanted to get to a Chipotle while we were there so we did that Saturday for lunch.

Saturday night, Michelle and I were very thirsty so we decided to get a bucket to drink at Howl at the Moon! We were not disappointed and our thirst was quenched!

Sunday after the Marathon, we went to Lou Malnati’s for some delicious deep dish pizza!

For dinner we went to a place across the street from our hotel (Portillo's). It was a really cool place with a ton of variety on the menus. You ordered cafeteria style and found your own seats. I had a Southwest Chicken Salad.

Tuesday was back to work! After dining out and indulging all weekend, last night's supper needed to be light!
