It's time for Disney!!!

In honour of the fact that we are currently on route to one of our (Mike and I’s) favourite places AKA “The Happiest Place on Earth”; I thought that I would share with you 3 of my favourite things to do at Walt Disney World.

1. Kilimanjaro Safaris

(from the official website)
A Wildlife Adventure
Glimpse real animals in their natural habitats during an 18-minute expedition into the Harambe Wildlife Reserve.
Traipse along a twisting path amid a lush garden gateway and make your way to the rendezvous point of Kilimanjaro Safaris expedition, the touring company for your adventure into the wilds. Featuring picturesque open plains, shady forest landscapes and rocky wetlands, the 110-acre Harambe Wildlife Reserve is a spectacular sanctuary dedicated to the protection of African animals.

The Call of the Wild
Climb aboard an open-air safari vehicle and hang on tight as you take off on a guided tour into the African outback—where over 34 different species of exotic African wildlife seemingly roam free. As your bumpy transport makes its way through rugged terrain, glimpse an array of exotic animals in a variety of unique habitats, your helpful guide providing you with valuable information during the journey.”
This ride is a must do…and every time you go on it you get to experience something different. We have actually been on this adventure and had to stop and wait for the giraffes to cross right in front of us, or because there was a white rhino just stopped in our path – this is an adventure that makes you feel as though you have gone and traveled to a safari in Africa…and I like that this is a “ride” that ANYONE no matter age, physical condition etc. ALL can enjoy!

Last year Kennedy and I had the opportunity to go on the “behind the scenes/up close and personal” safari tour…and it was awesome!!! It is quite pricy for the “added” adventure – but so worth it to do at least once in your lifetime!

2. Mickey’s Not so Scary Halloween Party.

clip_image006

As a family we L.O.V.E. dressing up and attending the party. Selected nights, the Magic Kingdom is shut down and that means it is party time!!!

clip_image007

“The night howls with excitement at this spook-tacular party for all little ghouls and boys. Unearth some of the great entertainment that awaits you at this ghastly bash:

Main Street, U.S.A.
Venture onto Main Street, U.S.A. where you might even meet a barbershop quartet of dead cowboys who sing songs in the style of the Dapper Dans. They like "axing" Guests questions and answering with puns as part of their "dead pan" humor.
Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade
The grandmaster of this bone-rattling parade has truly lost his head! A hair-raising ride by the Headless Horseman himself begins the festivities, followed by a collection of frightful floats featuring Disney Characters in Halloween costumes. Get ready for the grave diggers! The Haunted Mansion stars in this delightful parade. It's really not so scary—just fiendish fun!”

A special event ticket is required to attend, BUT it is defiantly worth every penny. If you ever decide to attend – make sure you DRESS-UP. Even as adults you will feel “under-dressed” for the event if you are not in costume J. Us 3cheaprunners are actually going to be attending the party TONIGHT – so be sure to follow us on IG to party along with us!

3. Fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom

clip_image011

Trust me when I say this – you have NEVER seen fireworks before, until you have seen them at the Magic Kingdom. It truly is a magical experience. No detail is missed “Exploding with vivid color, sound and gut wrenching emotion, "Wishes" is the largest fireworks display ever presented at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.
The night time spectacular is narrated by the voice of Jiminy Cricket and the Blue Fairy. Guests of the Magic Kingdom are told a thrilling "story in the sky" featuring hundreds of brilliant pyrotechnic effects exploding above and around Cinderella Castle” (from here)...it truly is a magical experience to partake in this nightly show!
