Random Friday Ramblings

Posted by CheapRunnerMichelle

Happy weekend friends! ...and should we even mention what today is

I wonder what weird/random things today will bring?!?

...and can we just stop for a minute and talk about how fast September is going...seriously...it's almost 1/2 over already....crazy how fast time is flying.

So I know this won't come as a surprise to most of you (cause I know it happens to you too) but Target stole my $ the other night. I went in to look for Halloween t-shirts (looking for them for us 3CR to wear when we go to the Disney Halloween party in just 3 weeks!!!). Well they did not have their festive shirts in yet - but they had tons of sales on - I scored some good finds!!!

Last night marked the 1st night of the kids swimming lessons at the Y...and J's first swimming lesson ever. I was lucky enough to get off a few hours early so that I could accompany Mike and the kids and get to watch their first night. There were A LOT of classes all going on at the same time, as I'm sure you can appreciate...the attention span of a 4 year old is not that great...and then you add in a whole lot of chaos going on around them...well needless to say Mike had to go over twice to remind J to pay attention to his instructor...I think this may be a long 14 weeks...as per usual K was a rock star in her class, and is already loving being back in the water!

I know I don't usually talk about my weight on here...but I'm going to pat myself on the back for a minute 'cause since our Labour day resolution - I've been doing a great job of keeping my eats under control...and it has been so nice to see the scale finally going in the right direction!

I'm not where I want to be yet...but I'm still motivated to continue to work hard and chip away at mini-goals to get myself to ultimately where I want to be.

So this Sunday all 3 of us CR's and the kiddo's are running in the MEC race. Mike has decided to run the 5km with both our kids, I'm running the 10km with my MIL, and Rhoda is running the 15km...speaking of Rhoda, if you read her post from Monday you know that last minute she decided to run the 1/2 marathon...well after she got looking at the race results online this week - she realized that she placed 3rd in her age category!!! Congrats Rhoda - way to rock it

I'm really looking forward to running the race this weekend - and I am really hoping that this will get my butt back into a regular running schedule! I definitely have been slacking these last number of weeks - so hopefully this is the kick start I need. I am not going out looking for a PR...so I hope I just enjoy myself.

Anyone else looking forward to a Halloween party?

Tell me one random thing today

Anyone else racing this weekend?

  1. I don't have any halloween plans yet, but I LOVE HALLOWEEN SO HARD.

One random thing...a cluster of graves discovered in rural Connecticut in 1990, initially feared to be the work of a known serial killer, was merely the result of a vampire scare a century earlier.

No races for me! Happy Friday!

  5. Way to go Rhoda!! 3rd place is freaking awesomesauce!! I am really happy to see that you are making the right decisions in both stores to shop at and clothing. That dress...ow ow!! I love hearing about how your whole family stays active. Are you accepting adult adoptions?
