Disney Takeover of 3CheapRunners Blog

Posted by CheapRunnerMike

If you don't like Disney, you'll probably want to tune out from the blog for the next week. Other than CheapRunnerRhoda's posts, it's going to be a steady diet of the Dis. Since Michelle and I are on vacatin with the kids, we are pretty much taking the lazy man's approach and doing some photo-blogging. Here goes, with the highlights from yesterday's arrival at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Views of the Uzima Savanna off our balcony - a nice room upgrade from Disney

Jackson making a nice face for us -- trying to fit in with the animals behind us

The kids (and us) were surprised with bunk beds... our room upgrades were over $1000

My buddy found a fitting hat...

We went to Wilderness Lodge for dinner...beautiful place!

Awesome stone fireplace that stretches all the way through the roof of the great hall

Old Glory. Love this picture.

Jackson stealing a kiss...hoping the frog turns into a princess perhaps?

3 Cheers for Chocolate Milkshakes

Michelle & the kids delivering ketchup to another table -- beware asking for ketchup here!
Th kids on their 'Pony Ride'...Kennedy was trying to act like she was too cool for school

Look at all that meat -- BBQ ribs, pulled pork, chicken and strip loin, plus all the fixin's

So there you have it, the Day One recap. After all that food Michelle hit the gym when we got back to the hotel (not sure how she could still move) and I got up early for a quick 5K run. Not really a lot of places to run at the resort as I was relegated to service roads that I probably wasn't supposed to even be on.

Well that all folks (<--oops, that's Loony Tunes not Disney), we are off to the Magic Kingdom! We will try to post photos to Instagram whenever we stumble on some free wifi...have a great day!

  6. An especially nice surprise! It certainly makes it easier for the kids to get to sleep when they have their own bed.
