Taking It All In Stride

Posted by Anonymous

When I hear the word Stride it makes me think of one of my biggest life mottos. "One day at a time".

So last month I got really jelly of CRMichelle and her joining the Foodie Penpal thingy so I decided I needed to find something of this nature to join. I know, I am such a follower. I did a little research and came across something that is perfect for me!

Stride Box!

I signed up near the end of May and received confirmation that I would recieve my first box early June. Its a box put together for runners! Perfect-right?

As soon as I received it on Monday, I couldn't wait to open it. I had just come home from a run. I was sweaty, sticky, hungry and just wanted to have a shower and eat, but that didn't stop me from diving right into the Stride Box.

So, what was in the box?

Due North foot Rubz Massage Ball.

I was so excited when I saw this because I have seen them advertised in magazines and what not but have yet to be able to find them in a store anywhere. I instantly took this out of the package and started rolling my feet over it. This is not only something runners will benefit from but really anybody, especially if you are on your feet alot! Get one!

Lock Laces

I wasn't sure what these were all about at first, but upon further investigation I realized they were to replace the laces on your shoes, so that you do not have to tie and un-tie your laces a million times over. The only problem for me with these, is that I have alot of running shoes so not sure which ones I would put them on?? Or perhaps, I will try them out and realize I love them and order some in every colour. They do come in really cute colours!

Blue Steel Sports anti-chafe cream.

The only other anti-chafe product I have used is body glide so it will be interesting to give this one a try and compare. It also has tea tree oil in it, so it smells real good! I don't need to get into what we use this product for....

Pocket Fuel crunchy-banana-blueberry flavour.

This is also a product I have never tried and am super excited to try it out on my long run this weekend! I checked out the flavour choices online and they all sound extremely delish!

Skratch Labs

This is a crystal hydration mix to be added to water. I tried it out yesterday after my run and it was really good! I would definately use this mix again.

Electro Delytes

This is a fun citrus bar. Good to snack on after a run in the heat or as they say on the website "Recover from excess—whether you sucked down too many mojitos or stayed awake all night cramming for exams". Not that, that ever has happened to me.

I saved this next one for last because I am obnoxiously excited about trying these babies out!

Power ICE

This Ice Bar contains electrolytes. Who wouldn't be excited to suck on this Ice Bar after a good run in the heat! I have these freezing up nicely in my freezer right now.

Well, there you have it. There is my first Stride Box! I didn't know what to expect and thought I might be expecting too much and get disappointed. It was the opposite! I was pleasantly surprised and will patiently eagerly await my box for July.

This week has marked my 2nd week of #marathon training. Excited to see where this takes me!

So far, it has taken me to rewarding myself with delicious Froyo treats!

We are on day 19 of the June #plankaday challenge. Still going strong!

Anyone else subscribe to Stride Box? How has your experience been?

Who is still going strong with the #plankaday challenge?

  1. That looks cool Rhodes, I'll have to come steal some of your samples!

FYI, Lock Laces are used a lot in Triathlon...saving precious seconds in transition not having to tie up your running shoes.
