National Running Day and Something for the Campfire

Posted by Anonymous

Yesterday was National Running Day! I did 3 things to celebrate it!

My 10 year old nephew was competing at the Regional Track and Field meet yesterday in 2 events, so I went out to watch him first thing in the morning. I don’t have kids so don’t go to many school events for kids and it was so fun to see all the excitement in these kids. The first event of the day was the 1500 metre dash, so I got to see that one before I had to go into work.

He placed 7th in the 1500 m and 6th in the 800 m. Way to go buddy!

So, I just got finished saying that I am going to take a break from races for awhile when my little sister started talking about a race happening that she wants to do. She has never done a race, ever, and asked if I would run it with her. How could I say no??!! So yesterday, we got signed up.

Now you know the real reason that I signed up!! The Grape Escape??!! You know what that means right?? It’s a wine run! The race is this Sunday. There is 2.5 km, 5 km, and a 10 km run. We are going to do the 10 km. It was $35 to enter. The race is at 4:00 in the afternoon and they serve dinner and wine after the run!! How great does that sound??!!

I also got out for a run last night. Things cooled off yesterday so it was great temps for a run. My legs were still feeling tired but I managed to put down a 10 k run.

After all that, it was time to relax…

So, I did just that!

Next up, is a random thing I want to share and want to see at the next campfire!

Have a great day everyone!!

S’Mores anyone?? Which one would you choose off this menu?
I would try the Nutty Buddy first

Any Wine Racers out there??
